Quick Navigation
Daiwa Prorex X LT Specifications
| Model | Gear Ratio | Retrieve | Weight | Max Drag | Mono Capacity | Braid Capacity |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Prorex X LT 2000 | 5.2:1 | 26.8" | 6.9 oz | 11 lb | 4/160, 6/110 | 6/220, 8/150 |
| Prorex X LT 2500 | 5.3:1 | 29.6" | 7.6 oz | 22 lb | 6/160, 8/110 | 8/200, 10/170 |
| Prorex X LT 3000-C | 5.3:1 | 29.6" | 7.6 oz | 22 lb | 6/160, 8/110 | 8/200, 10/170 |
The Prorex X LT 2000 is the lightest option at 6.9 ounces and is designed around lighter line and smaller presentations. The 2500 and 3000-C are both 7.6 ounces with 22 pounds of maximum drag, making them the more versatile choices for general freshwater fishing. The BJL lineup currently includes these three sizes.
Choose the Right Prorex X LT Size
| Size | Best For | Typical Line |
|---|---|---|
| 2000 | Trout, panfish, ultralight and finesse fishing | 6–8 lb braid |
| 2500 | Bass, walleye, finesse and general freshwater | 8–10 lb braid |
| 3000-C | Bass, walleye and general freshwater applications | 8–10 lb braid |
For anglers who prioritize the lightest possible setup, the 2000 is the natural starting point. The 2500 provides a useful middle ground for bass, walleye and finesse fishing, while the 3000-C offers the same listed weight, drag and retrieve specifications as the 2500 in the current BJL lineup.
Daiwa Prorex X LT Features
The Prorex X LT uses Daiwa's LT (Light & Tough) design philosophy to keep the reel lightweight while maintaining the strength needed for demanding freshwater fishing. The series incorporates AIRDRIVE Rotor, AIRDRIVE Bail and AIRDRIVE Spool components to reduce weight and rotational resistance. Tough DigiGear provides digitally designed, machine-cut gearing, while the ATD Type-L drag is specifically designed for smooth performance with lighter lines.
The Prorex X LT also uses an AIRDRIVE ABS Longcast spool, which is designed to improve casting performance, and a Twist Buster III line roller for improved line management. Daiwa's European specifications list five ball bearings across the Prorex X LT sizes.

For more information about choosing the right reel size for your rod and fishing application, see our Spinning Reel Sizes Explained guide.
When selecting a Prorex X LT, match the reel size to the rod and line rather than simply choosing the largest available model. A properly balanced lightweight setup is easier to cast repeatedly and makes better use of the reel's LT design.
