Why Choose the HiViz DOVM-420 Universal Rifle Front Sight?

The HiViz DOVM-420 is an interchangeable fiber-optic front sight designed for compatible rimfire and centerfire rifles and muzzleloaders. It fits firearms with a standard 3/8-inch dovetail front sight and measures .420 inch from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight. This is commonly listed as a 7/16-inch sight height.

The all-steel sight base is built for durability, while interchangeable red and green LitePipes let you choose an aiming-point color suited to your preference and shooting conditions. The fiber-optic design gathers available light to make the front sight easier to see without requiring batteries.

Before ordering, verify both the dovetail size and the height of your existing front sight. The dovetail measurement determines mounting compatibility, while sight height affects alignment with the rear sight. HiViz offers several heights in its DOVM universal front sight series to accommodate different firearm configurations.

Care and LitePipe Replacement

Treat the blued steel sight base like other metal firearm components and keep it lubricated to help prevent rust. Use polymer- or synthetic-safe cleaners, and clean the LitePipes gently with a soft tissue. When practical, remove the LitePipe or take the sight off the firearm before cleaning.

To replace a LitePipe, insert the pin on the included key into the front of the sight. Push the LitePipe down and back to release its lock, then slide it out. Confirm that the replacement sight's dimensions match your firearm before installation.
